Many Floridians are full of questions on how to apply for Reemployment Assistance due to many, facing employment challenges and difficulties due to the Covid-19. I would like to explain claimants the different ways to apply and how after they have applied they can check their status:
Paper Application- I will stay away from sending paper applications for Reemployment. It's processing time is longer than completing an online application. This is the longest way to submit an application for Reemployment Benefits. To download a paper application click here. The form is available in three languages English, Spanish & Creole.
New Applicants, Self-Employed, Independent Contractors & Gig Workers- a new applicant is someone that has never in his life requested for Reemployment Assistance. New Applicants should apply for Reemployment Assistance Benefits via the online application submission site click here. So, if you applied for Reemployment back in 2008 you are not a New Applicant, you will be an Existing User, even if you started the application and never claim weeks. All your information is in the Connect System, so you will need to contact the number 833-352-7759, and press the option Reset Pin, in order for an Agent to provide you with access credentials.
Existing Claimants/ Users- if you had a previous claim before 2020 your credentials and information are in the Connect platform. If you fall in this category, the fastest way to apply for Reemployment Benefits is by visiting the connect.myflorida.com site and with your Social Security Number and PIN (Security Password formed by 4 numbers referred as a PIN Number) you can access your Claimant Profile in the connect site. If you do not remember your PIN Number, you will need to contact the number 833-352-7759, and press the option Reset Pin, in order for an Agent to provide you with access credentials.
Payments are Retroactive- for all of those Floridians who've had difficulties applying. You can change your claim effective date click here
